Individual, Family, and Group Therapy

We offer equine assisted therapy to at-risk youth and families. Sessions focus on emotional awareness and behavioral management which helps clients deal with mental health issues or environmental stressors. Clients learn how their behaviors impact their feelings and the feelings of others, while learning skills they need to cope with their situation.

An initial intake will determine if the client is best suited for individual or group therapy.

Individual and Family sessions are scheduled directly with out therapist based on the schedule needs of the individual participants. Individual and family sessions can run from a single session to about 10. Each is geared specifically to work with the presenting problems. It is common for some sessions to be only with the youth and some with the full family.

Groups are limited to no more than six participants and an eight to ten week session is typical. Groups will be divided by therapeutic need and age. Check our event calendar for dates of upcoming groups. A sample of some of the groups offered include:

  • Anger Management - focusing on the healthy expression of emotions
  • Communication Skills Development - geared towards middle school aged youth with communication skills deficits
  • Loss and Emotional Management - focusing on healthy emotional expression in situations of loss.

We offer services at our facility near Pataskala year round. Summer sessions are also available the Otterbein College Equine Science Facility in Westerville.
