How to listen to yourself and the horses to create powerful facilitation teams.

Presented by Holly Jedlicka, MSW, LISW-S and Erica Lewis.

This topic was presented at the 2020 Eagala National Conference and has been adapted for a workshop format with hands on activities with horses.

This workshop focuses on creating equality and balance in Eagala Model teams made up of mental health professionals, equine specialists and horses. The information can be translated to many equine partnerships including, therapeutic riding, equine assisted /facilitated learning, and riding. The discussion also includes considerations for inequality between the human facilitators.

Taco is a horse that works in our equine assisted psychotherapy program at PBJ Connections. He has a knack for generating powerful experiences for the clients in our sessions. His big personality and desire to be heard by the human facilitators helped inspire this presentation. Taco has made us better providers and we want to pass that knowledge on to you.
