Today is National Horse Protection Day and National Pig Day! National Horse Protection Day was founded in 2005 by Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Behaviorist/Advocate, Colleen Paige. Colleen grew up with horses and spent much of her time learning dressage, show jumping, trail riding, and caring for foster horses. Colleen created National Horse Protection Day to bring light to the plight of horses in America, and abroad, and to help the thousands of unwanted horses in this country find forever homes.
National Pig Day was started in 1972 to “accord the pig its rightful, though generally unrecognized, place as one of man’s most intellectual and domesticated animals.” Send our friend, Cupcake, some warm wishes today!
