According to Wikipedia, a parent is a caregiver of the offspring of their own species. That makes sense, but what is a parent, really? Is it someone who teaches us or takes care of us? Is it someone we can confide in or someone who protects us? At what age do we stop needing a parent, or do we ever get to that point?
Some of us had parents that we might describe as, “the best parents in the world.” And some of us won’t even speak to our parents now. It is interesting to look at how our parents influence us, for the better and for the worse, and in what ways. Our parents have a lot of power over us, whether we like to admit it or not.
We see all kinds of families with all kinds of parents here at PBJ Connections. We would love to hear from you about what your parents did that was “spot on”, or what you have discovered as a parent that worked really well. We look forward to you sharing with us so we can all learn from each other!
